Student Life
Amelia Reuter is a standout student at Lone Star College. In her second semester of the Applied Science degree program, she also leads the Online Gaming Club as president. With a passion for both gaming and science, Amelia is aiming to join the LSC Medical Laboratory Science program.
I chose to go into the science program because I just love science. I've had my own microscope since I was a little girl and my mother, she works in the medical field as a nurse.
My future career aspirations are to hopefully one day manage my own lab. I'm planning on transferring to the College of Anchorage, Alaska after I finish my time at Lone Star College.
I've really enjoyed my time, going over all the documents forming the LSC-Online Gaming Club. Getting to know my fellow Officers, it's been a lot of fun.
With the Gaming Club using Discord and going online to multiplayer games, you're able to have more connection with your peers than you would over a discussion, posts or an e-mail, or just doing a group assignment. You're able to actually relax and not think about school as much. It's a good opportunity to have that headspace and do something that's nonacademic and social.
The Lone Star College-Online gaming club is wonderful. It's still in its infancy, but we've been working hard to gather more people, more gamers, who want to be a part of a community where you can talk openly about games and find other people who you connect with.
We're always looking for new members. Everyone is very welcoming, very happy to have to have you there.
