Phi Theta Kappa
Meet Your President
Gianna Alanis is paving the way for her future as a part-time LSC-Online sophomore majoring in Business while working full-time as an assistant at an active adult community.
Hot off the press, Gianna has been named the first president of your LSC-Online Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society chapter, Beta Omega XI!
Selected from among her peers to be President, Gianna has a bright future ahead. She is set to transfer to the University of Houston next fall to pursue a bachelor's degree in business management and is very excited about what the future holds.
As your first president, Gianna has lots of great new ideas and is ready to meet the challenge head on!
As a president, and especially as an online student, I understand how hard it can be for us to connect with our peers, learn from them, or get their support. My priority is to connect with like-minded peers, to create an environment that empowers everyone and allows growth.
I hope to create that by providing resources and different opportunities, that allow people to develop both personally and academically.
I love being able to do my business classes online because I also get the real-life experience of being able to have a job throughout the day.I use so many different things from my classes, like accounting, every day at work.It just shows you that what we're learning is actually useful and I get to do it already and see how that fits together at the end.
My goal is to own a business of my own.
I am very excited for this opportunity to join and have a role in Phi Theta Kappa.
I can’t wait to accomplish great things on this new journey
