Fired Up: Student’s Mascot Design Shines Bright

Alina Ashfaq, an associate of art student at Lone Star College-Online, has been named the winner of your mascot design contest for Blaze the dragon.

Alina was thrilled to be announced the winner at our recent Fall Convocation.

Meet Blaze the Dragon!

I am the kind of person that is never overconfident in myself. When I got the news that I had won, I felt really, really grateful and happy. It was a special moment that made me feel my creativity was truly appreciated and it gave me a lot of confidence in my abilities.

I wanted to show that this dragon is a star in its own right, just like the Lone Star College-Online students.

I have a deep interest in biology, understanding life and how life works. I want to do something in the medical field. I want to become a dental hygienist because it's a role where I can help people directly, educate them about their health and see real results from my care.

I also wanted to keep exploring my graphic design field as a side passion, because creativity has always been a part of me.
